My Review: Another great book from Susan Dennard! Although Safi and Iseult stay apart most of this book, I found the separate stories interesting and enjoyable. Safi and the Empress flee when the Empress’s ship is blown apart. Pursued, they navigate through hostile lands. Meanwhile, Iseult finds the Bloodwitch unconscious and hides his coins. She knows he’ll find her and when he does: she offers him a deal. Track Safi for her and she’ll return the coins. Reluctantly, he agrees. Merik returns to his homeland with his “boy” side-kick, determined to expose his sister’s treachery but what he finds may just destroy him. I like the pairings of Iseult and Aeudun and Merik and Safi, but now there is a new potential for Safi. His name is well, I’ll let you discover that bit yourself. Nice twist there! On to Bloodwitch, started this morning!
